When it comes to chemistry onscreen, we all have our favourite pairs. Be it Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol, Deepika – Ranbir or Salman – Sonakshi. If the lead actors share crackling chemistry onscreen, the film is a guaranteed success. However, most of the upcoming films in 2014 are going to introduce some fresh pairs onscreen - like Salman Khan might be paired with Deepika Padukone in Sooraj Barjatya's next and Shahid Kapoor will be romancing 'Aashiqui 2' actress Shraddha Kapoor in 'Haider.' Here's a look at some of the fresh jodis, will the magic work?
Salman Khan–Sana Khan–Daisy Shah: Salman Khan, who was last seen in 'Dabangg 2' in 2012, will be romancing two new girls in his next flick 'Jai Ho'. Directed by brother Sohail Khan, the action film has Sana Khan of ‘Bigg Boss’ fame and southern actress Daisy Shah. The film's first romantic song featuring Salman and Daisy has been released recently.
Salman Khan–Deepika Padukone–Jacqueline Fernandez: Salman Khan may also be paired opposite Bolywood's reigning queen Deepika Padukone in Sooraj Barjatya's untitled project. Though they make an interesting pair, whether the duo will light up the screen together still remains to be seen.
Salman Khan will be next seen with former Sri Lankan beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandez in Sajid Nadiawala's action film 'Kick', which also stars Randeep Hooda in a pivotal role.
Shahid Kapoor–Shraddha Kapoor-Sidharth Malhotra: 'Aashiqui 2' actress Shraddha Kapoor is a lucky lady with handful of meaty projects with two hunks of Bollywood. The 'Aashiqui 2' actress will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Haider', which is said to be a Bollywood adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'.
Shraddha Kapoor is also romancing 'Student Of The Year' lad Sidharth Malhotra in 'Villian'. The romantic film produced by Balaji, also stars Riteish Deshmukh in a negative role.
Farhan Akhtar-Kareena Kapoor Khan: Bollywood's style diva Kareena Kapoor Khan has bagged the role opposite actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar in poet Sahir Ludhianvi's biopic. Reports are that Kareena will be reprising the role of Amrita Pritam, who was the love interest of Ludhianvi, which will be played by Farhan Akhtar. The movie is said to be revolving around the relationship that the two lovers shared in their real life.
Farhan Akhtar–Vidya Balan: When two of the most talented actors in the industry get together, expectations are bound to be sky-high. Farhan Akhtar, who garnered much praise for his performance in 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' will play Natinal Award-winning actress Vidya Balan's husband in the rom-com ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’. From the first promos of the movie, the two seem to share a rocking chemistry.
Vidya will also be romanced by a younger actor Ali Fazal in 'Bobby Jasoos'.
Sonam Kapoor–Ayushmaan Khurrana: We all loved Sonam Kapoor in 'Raanjhanna' and off course Ayushmann Khurrana won a million hearts with ‘Vicky Donor’. The duo will be seen together in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Bewakoofian’. They looks super-cute together and we hear there has been much bonding going on during the filming of the romantic comedy flick.
Sonakshi Sinha–Arjun Kapoor: After romancing actors a tad older to her onscreen like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar, Desi Belle Sonakshi Sinha seems to be keen on working with actors in her age group. She was seen in 'Lootera' with Ranveer Singh and in her next 'R... Rajkumar', she has Shahid Kapoor paired opposite her. She will also appear opposite heartthrob, Arjun Kapoor in Boney Kapoor’s home production, which is a remake of South film, ‘Okkadu’, directed by Amit Sharma.
Anushka Sharma–Aamir Khan–Sushant Singh Rajput: Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Peekay’, which is said to be a political satire stars Aamir Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput and Anushka Sharma.
Rumour has it that Anushka will be seen romancing both the gentlemen. Stories about Aamir sharing the 'longest kiss' ever with Anushka were also doing the sounds. Well, lets wait and see if it's true!
Alia Bhatt–Arjun Kapoor–Randeep Hooda: 'Student of the Year' actress Alia Bhatt will be seen opposite ‘Murder’ actor Randeep Hooda in Imtiaz Ali's 'Highway'.
Highway is a story of two people from very different backgrounds played by Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt who take the road trip across six states in a truck.
The bubbly actress will then play a vivacious Tamil Brahmin girl in ‘2 States’ based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same name, opposite Arjun Kapoor.
Ajay Devgn–Deepika–Shraddha–Yaami Gautam: After getting lucky with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’, Deepika might be romancing Ajay Devgn in Shetty's 'Singham 2'. However, reports suggest that Shraddha Kapoor is also in the race to star opposite Ajay Devgn. The actress is yet to be finalised.
'Singham 2' is said to release by August next year.
‘Vicky Donor’ actress Yaami Gautam will star opposite Ajay Devgn in Prabhu Dheva’s untitled next. Not much is known about the project, but surely they will make an interesting pair.
