‘Hope my efforts make things better’
Somdev Devvarman talks about why he wants AITA to respond positively to the players' demands. Excerpts
Have the AITA officials got back to you after you mailed them your demands?
* I have not heard from them since I had the meeting. I am not a guy who believes in open confrontation. That's not my style. I just want to fix some problems. I can't let problems be ignored.
What is your goal?
* Our goal is to make things better for everybody. We just hope that is going to happen. I do not want to point fingers and make this more ugly than it already is. I think it is my obligation to not take things lying down and inform people when I feel like things are not up to par in my opinion. That is what I did. I thought it was a collective problem and there was an easy answer to it. I cannot shy away from taking responsibility. I think I owed that to myself and my other team mates.
How do you see this ending?
* I hope my efforts help players get a better deal. All of us are putting in great effort and are trying our best. I think it is only fair that everybody else (in the association) does that too. I just want to make the whole thing better. Hopefully, it gets to that point.
