Baruipur:As many as 75 students of a madrasa at Ramnagar in South 24-Parganas district were admitted to hospital on Thursday with suspected food poisoning after they took panta bhaat in breakfast provided by the institute, police said.
Woman 'molested' in Kolkata, 2 held
Kolkata:A 20-year-old woman was allegedly molested by four youths at Beadon Street in north Kolkata on Wednesday evening. After the woman raised an alarm, locals rescued her and caught hold of one of the youths. He was handed over to police. Later, one of his friends was arrested, while two other accused were at large.
Arms, ammunition found from pond
Burdwan:Arms and ammunition were found on Thursday from two plastic bags hidden in pond water at Raina in Burdwan district following interrogation of two arrested CPM leaders —Sheikh Kausar Ali and his aide Allaudin Kazi — on January 25 . "Two carbines, two 9mm pistols, two magazines and 20 cartridges were seized from the two plastic bags which were kept in the pond water," said police.
Teachers 'abused' by college in-charge
Kolkata:Two teachers of Mili Al Amin College on Thursday alleged that they were assaulted and abused by in-charge of the college , Sabina Misat Omar, when they protested against her decision to appoint some of her"favourite teachers".
