A 75-year-old man, Pritam Singh, on Sunday committed suicide by hanging himself in the chemist shop of his son. The incident happened at Mata Vaishno Devi Colony of Salem Tabri.
Reportedly, the man was mentally upset due to family matters. The Salem Tabri police sent the body to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.
Salem Tabri SHO Dharampal said, "The son of the deceased ran a chemist shop in the area. He went to a religious place on Sunday morning, and the victim sat in the shop in the absence of his son."
Pritam Singh closed down the shop and hanged himself with a sash from the ceiling fan.
