Aarya Babbar will sport a clean-shaven look with a short hair-do in his next film, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Aarya plays the second lead in the film that co-stars Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma. The actor, who has shared a photograph of his look in the film with Screen, says, "For the first time I will be sporting a clean-shaven look. I have worked really hard for this role and I hope the audience appreciates it." The actor has also shed a few kilos for the film and will be sporting a chiselled look with a well-toned body.
Buzz is that the film is a love triangle with Imran and Aarya pining for Anushka's attention. In the film, Imran plays Matru, a desi character, Aarya essays the the role of a suave and sophisticated foreign-returned comic character and Anushka plays Bijli. Commenting about how he landed the role, Aarya says, "I bagged the film through a round of auditions. I got a call from Bhardwaj's office to audition for the role. A day later, I got a call confirming my role in the project." Aarya is currently shooting the second schedule of the film at Rajkot and was also a part of the first schedule at Mumbai.
The actor, who has already shot for one month, reveals that Shabana Azmi and Pankaj Kapur who are also part of the project, are the most fun-loving people on the sets. "Bhardwaj has put together a talented team and I am very happy to be a part of the film. Shabanaji and Pankajji are the coolest people on the sets. It is also a pleasure working with Imran Khan as he is a fun-loving guy. He is also very down-to-earth," admits Aarya.
As for his forthcoming films, Aarya has six releases this year. He will be seen in Dangerous Ishq, Maximum, Afra Tafri, Zindagi 50:50, Choron Ki Baraat and Joker 3D.
