Admission process for autonomous engg colleges to start today

The admission process for the six autonomous engineering colleges will start from Wednesday. The forms will be available in all the six institutes and the duly filled forms will be accepted from June 14 to 21.

There are six autonomous engineering colleges in the state namely CoEP, Pune, UICT and VJTI, Mumbai, SGGSIET, Nanded, Walchand College, Sangali and the new entrant VIT, Pune.

Independent admission process is carried out for these colleges. The admission procedure for first year arts, commerce and science stream continued on Tuesday too. "For commerce and arts stream, we will be giving preference to the students of our own junior college and there will be no sale of forms to outside students for these two streams. For science stream, we are selling the forms to everybody," said V M Solapurkar, vice-principal of S P College.

Meanwhile, the directorate of technical education (DTE) on Tuesday declared results of MBA group discussion and personal interview along with the provisional merit list on their website www.dte.org.in.

The DTE has displayed the timetable for submission of grievances also. The final merit list will be displayed on June 13.
