Social activist Anna Hazare will not be present at the historic swearing in ceremony of his former Man Friday Arvind Kejriwal when the latter will take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi at the Ramila Maidan. Hazare or his office has not received any invitation from Kejriwal or any other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Datta Awari, the 75-year-old activist's personal assistant told The Indian express.

"The last time Kejriwal contacted Anna was on October 21 when Annaji was hospitalised. Since then we have not received any call or email from Kejriwal. We have received no invite for the swearing in ceremony from him," said Awari.

The unconventional swearing in ceremony which is scheduled to take place on December 26 will not be held in the confines of the Raj Bhavan but will instead be organised in the open Ramlila Ground where Kejriwal and his 'mentor' Hazare - had organised their most successful protest to pressurise the government to pass a strong Lokpal bill in August 2011.

Hazare's fast at the Ramlila Maidan which had lasted 13 days had forced the Central government to give a written promise to bring out a bill with included the three key demands put forth by Anna and his associates.

Only after a few months, however, Kejriwal and Hazare had parted ways over formation of the political outfit later named Aam Aadmi Party. Kejriwal becam convener of the AAP backed by associates with similar inclination. Hazare, on the other hand, decided to continue on the movement path. He later grew closer to former army chief V K Singh who was not part of the original "Team Anna".

When reporters asked Anna if he would attend the swearing in ceremony of Kejriwal, he reportedly said that he was in no position to travel due to illness.
