Arguments end in DSP double murder case

Arguements for framing charges against the accused in the double murder case of DSP Balraj Gill concluded on Tuesday.

Harpreet Sandhu, counsel for the complainant, along with public prosecutor Sukhchain Singh Gill argued before Additional Sessions Judge Paramjeet Singh for framing of charges against the accused who were present in the court.

Contending that this case happens to be one of the most heinous crimes ever in the state wherein a well-decorated police officer was murdered, Sandhu said the accused caused the evidence of the offence of murder to disappear by throwing the blood-stained clothes, the trousers of deceased Monika and the weapons of offence into the Budha Nullah.

He submitted that as per circumstantial evidence and the chain of events proved by the prosecution, a criminal conspiracy had been hatched by all the accused, namely Harwinder Singh, Pritpal Singh, Omesh Karara, Hasanjit Singh, Davinderpal Singh and Ravinder Singh in this case.

The court fixed December 22 as the date for pronouncement of orders against the accused.

On February 2 this year, DSP Balraj Singh Gill and Monika Kapila were murdered at a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city.
