Army recruitment rally delayed by three hours

Chilling weather on Tuesday resulted in a three-hour delay in the start of army recruitment rally, held at Guru Nanak Stadium, for aspirants from Moga. The rally scheduled for 4.30 am finally began at around 7.30 am in which 4,000 aspirants from Moga participated out of which 1,200 passed and qualified for the next round. Col MS Mahar, director recruitment said: "In comparison to rally held in July, there has been a slight decrease in number of applicants but that is not due to harsh winters. In July, the fresh pass outs from schools and colleges also apply at least once for army resulting in more number of aspirants."
