Body of woman found on river bed

The Deccan Police found the body of a woman at Deccan River Bed on Thursday evening. Manohar Joshi, senior police inspector attached to Deccan Gymkhana Police Station said the woman seems to be aged between 30 and 35 years.

"The body is highly decomposed and we have sent it for post-mortem. The reports are awaited. Nobody has approached us so far claiming the body," said Joshi.

Man steals baby's gold, chased, caught by people

A man who snatched a gold chain from a two-and-a-half-year old baby was nabbed by people and handed over to police. According to the complaint lodged by the baby's father, Pradipkumar Nobatsingh of B E G Center, Camp, at Vishrantwadi police station, he along with his wife Manojkumari and their baby daughter Sakshi were at the vegetable market in Vishrantwadi around 6 pm, when the suspect allegedly punched Pradipkumar, snatched a chain carrying gold pendant from Sakshi's neck and fled. Pradipkumar shouted for help and with the help of other citizens nabbed the suspect and handed him over to the police.

Apartment at M R Pride in Dighi burgled

Unidentified persons broke into an apartment on the fifth floor of M R Pride building in Dighi and fled with valuables worth Rs 1.74 lakh on Sunday. Shashank Gengane (40), a resident of the apartment, has lodged the complaint at Vishrantwadi police station. On Sunday when the apartment was locked, the burglars broke in after tampering with the lock of the door and committed the theft.

Robbers threaten two, flee with their cash, car

Three unidentified persons threatened two persons near Punjab National Bank in Pimpri, stole their cash and a mobile phone and fled with their car in the early hours of Sunday.
