The Chief Minister, meanwhile, assured that the development work would be initiated in the area. "I have spoken to the deputy commissioner, she will look into the demands of the residents and resolve the issues. We are working on it. But there is so much to do that the pace seems slow."

BYPL CEO Ramesh Narananan said: "Electricity ensures inclusive growth. Power supply has ensured that no diesel generator sets are used. Better multi-specialty hospitals are being set up and hotels have come up in the area."

"Bhagidari system is in place so that the RWA could be empowered. We have asked the RWAs to come to us and we shall heed to their demands. The development work will happen in the area," Goswami said.
