We were not surprised because nominations come much after a film releases and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag had already been loved by the audience. But getting the film, based on an athlete off was not easy as it was based on an athlete of the '60s. But we followed our instincts and slowly people like Farhan Akhtar, Binod Pradhan, Divya Dutta, Shankar Ehsaan Loy came on board.

P.S. Bharathi, Producer

(Bhaag Milkha Bhaag)

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a special film for Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. It not only delivered at the box-office, but inspired, touched and inspired people both in India and overseas. We are proud to stand for this brand of cinema. To have it nominated in the Best Film category —gives us great satisfaction.

Ajit Andhare,

COO Viacom 18 Motion Pictures (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag)

One can never make a film, thinking it will be a hit. As a producer you have to love the film that you are making, believe in it, be convinced about it and be committed to it. If you keep all these things in mind, it will show and the film will connect with the people.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Director-producer

We are happy with ...Ram-leela's success. It was instantly embraced by both critics and audience worldwide, making it one of the most memorable hits of last year. We thank Screen for the nomination in the Best Film category.
