Bhosari: Woman kidnapped, gangraped; suspects flee

A 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two persons at an under construction building of a school in Panjarpol, Bhosari, around 9 pm on Friday. Investigations revealed that the two suspects also forcibly made the victim drink liquor before raping her.

The woman has registered a complaint of rape with the Bhosari police station against two suspects identified as Ramesh Brijmohan Kotar and Rajuprasad Jagmohan Kotar, both natives of Uttar Pradesh. Both of them fled the spot after the incident, police said.

Police said both the suspects and the victim's husband are watchmen and work at the same place in Panjarpol in Bhosari. They also stay close to each other. The suspects allegedly raped the woman when her husband had gone for night duty. Police have booked the suspects on charges of kidnapping and gangrape under Sections 452, 363, 376 (2) (g) of the IPC.

Inspector C D Bhosale is investigating the case. "The two suspects are neighbours of the victim. So they knew each other. They barged into her house after her husband left for night duty on Thursday. They gagged her, picked her up and forcibly took her to the terrace of an under construction building of a school in Panjarpol. Then they allegedly raped her one after the other. This building is located at an isolated area. The woman has told us that she was forced to drink liquor by the suspects before they allegedly raped her," said Bhosale.

"The woman was in a state of shock. The suspects threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the incident. However, she told her husband and the couple approached the police on Sunday. We have registered the offence and search is on for the two," said Bhosale. Police said a team of Bhosari police has been despatched to UP for nabbing them.
