BJP city unit campaigns for leaders contesting Delhi polls

The Chandigarh unit of BJP is actively involved in campaigning for candidates contesting in the Delhi Assembly elections. With Aarti Mehra, the incharge of the Chandigarh unit of the party being one of the contestants, several leaders from the city have campaigned in the constituency she is contesting from.

Among those who have been to Delhi to campaign is the president of the city unit Sanjay Tandon. Apart from Mehra's constituency, he campaigned at other places as well.

Tandon said that in different constituencies there are people who the leaders here know or can influence. Meetings are being held with them. The local leaders are also participating in pad yatras as well as public meetings held by senior leaders like Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley.

Councillor Heera Negi was among those who campaigned in Delhi and distributed voter slips in different areas. Negi said during the campaign, local leaders are interacting with the voters in Delhi and informing about policies of the party.

Aarti Mehra has been former Mayor of Delhi. She was recently appointed incharge of the Chandigarh unit and has frequently been visiting the city. Among the tasks she has at hand here is ensuring that infighting among the local party leaders comes to an end.
