Blast a revenge for Babri: mail

The 2002 Gujarat riots was given as the excuse for the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad in July. For Saturday's bomb blasts in Delhi, it was the 1992 demolition of Babri Masjid. An email sent by Indian Mujahideen to television channels which has almost become its signature move before an attack minutes before the five bomb blasts shook Delhi, harps on the Babri Masjid demolition and sends an ultimatum to the authorities: "Vacate the land of Babri as soon as you can".

"Never assume that we have forgotten the demolition of Babri Masjid and by Allah we can never forget it! It is that grave mistake of yours which will make you taste humiliation for generations to come. Babri Masjid was and will remain to be our glorious self-esteem and Inshallah, we will prove it to you a hornet's nest in which you have immersed your bare hand, unaware of the pain to come," the 13-page email titled Eye for an Eye: The Dust Will Never Settle Down says.

Interestingly, the names of two 18th century mujahids, Sayyed Ahmed Shaheed and Shah Ismail Shaheed "who had raised the glorious banner of jihad against disbelievers in this very city of Delhi" have been invoked. The email says the attack on Delhi was carried out in the memory of these "two most eminent mujahids of India".

The mail in pdf format, written in flawless English, is very similar to the one sent ahead of the Ahmedabad blasts titled The Rise of Jihad: Revenge of Gujarat in its tone, tenor and rhetoric, but is much more analytical and packed with facts.

There is a lot of abuse and vitriol directed against the usual suspects Narendra Modi, R R Patil, VHP, RSS, Congress (interestingly there is no mention of BJP) and lots of ridicule for the investigating agencies like the anti-terrorist squads of Gujarat and Rajasthan.
