1 held in Goa for possessing drugs at Sunburn festival

Panaji: Sunburn, the electronic dance music festival in Goa, has run into trouble after the state police Saturday arrested one of the revellers for allegedly possessing drugs. Saurabh Agarwal was arrested after he was found with 10 gms charas inside the Sunburn venue by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) during a raid at the festival, which has been underway at Vagator since Friday.

Scribes 'beaten up' at police station

Guwahati: Five journalists were allegedly beaten up in Dispur police station Friday night. Guwahati City SP AP Tiwari Saturday announced a probe into the case. An FIR lodged by the five alleged they were beaten up without provocation inside the police station by a sub-inspector and several constables when they went to collect information about an incident. They also alleged the sub-inspector was in an inebriated state. Sub-inspector Arun Barua, meanwhile, lodged an FIR alleging the reporters tried to exert pressure on the cops to release some people picked up by them.
