Govt college instructors to monitor driving test
Chandigarh:The Punjab government has authorised instructors of government ITIs, polytechnic and engineering colleges to monitor 'competency test to drive' (driving test) to issue permanent driving license to the aspirants. Now, the department has asked people holding permanent licenses, to contact the instructors of these institutions for the competence test.
Punjab creates paddy procurement record
Chandigarh:Punjab has created a new record in paddy procurement as it crossed 133 lakh tonnes during the current Kharif marketing season, beating the previous year procurement of 118 lakh tonnes by a big margin, despite 42 per cent deficient rains this monsoon. A statement of the Punjab government said the achievement was possible due to the farmers who incurred extra expenditure of Rs 900 crore on diesel to save paddy crop, beside the efforts of the Punjab government. State agencies have procured 95.4 per cent paddy and only 4.6 per cent has been procured by the millers.
Computer courses in e-governance likely
Chandigarh:HARTRON has submitted a proposal to the Centre to introduce one-year computer training in e-governance at 21 locations in all districts of Haryana. Under this programme, the HARTRON aims at imparting training to 4,200 SC and ST candidates. "HARTRON has so far provided computer education to 45,000 candidates through its franchise centres and training to 86,000 under state and central schemes," a spokesperson said.
