Haryana to add 111 new ambulances

Chandigarh:In order to improve the health services in Haryana, the state government, on Monday, announced it has decided to add 111 more ambulances including 21 new Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and 90 Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances.

Man battered to death in Karnal

Karnal:A resident of Budha Khera village in Karnal district was arrested on charges of murdering Joginder Pal (35). According to police, Gulab hit Joginder on the head with a wooden stick who then succumbed to his injuries. In the police complaint, Joginder's father Ranjeet Singh, alleged his son was thrashed by Gulab over an ongoing enmity.

Sterilising stray dogs to save black bucks

Fatehabad:In an attempt to protect black bucks from stray dogs, the Fatehabad district administration has launched a month long campaign to sterilise dogs. Black bucks were on the verge of extinction due to attacks by stray dogs. Around Rs 15 lakh will be spent to implement on the sterilisation campaign.

Phone recovered in jail from murder convict

Chandigarh:The Haryana police recovered a mobile phone and two SIM cards from the possession of Ajit, a convict undergoing life imprisonment in Sonepat jail since 2009 for the kidnap, rape and murder of a minor girl. The search operation was carried out on Sunday. A case has been registered against Ajit under the provisions of Prisoner Probation Act.

INLD begins seven-day march

Hisar:The Indian National Lok Dal, on Monday, started a seven-day long public awareness march from Hisar. Led by INLD legislator Ajay Chautala, INLD leaders and workers intend to spread a message against female foeticide, casteism. They will also promote blood and eye donation, cleanliness, sanitation and education.

Two schoolgirls raped by minors

Chandigarh:In two separate cases in Bhiwani and Narnaul, two teenaged schoolgirls were allegedly raped by minor boys. In both cases, the boys were taken into custody by the police and the girls were medically examined. The victim from Bhiwani was a class VIII student while the girl fromNarnaul was a class IX student.
