A major manpower reallocation is reportedly on in the railway ministry after Pawan Kumar Bansal assumed charge. As a part of this process, senior officials transferred include Chandralekha Mukherjee, executive director (public relations), PP Mandal (EDME), Manobendra Ghoshal (EDME) and RC Jat (secretary). A government source said the ministry has drawn up another list of officials who could be transferred in the coming weeks. The new secretary of the ministry HKL Jaggi, who has been handpicked by Bansal is reported to be assisting in the exercise. Also, with the Railway Budget slated next month, for the post of Member Engineering in the Board, which is slated to fall vacant on January 31 when the current incumbent AP Mishra is slated to retire, no fresh names have been proposed to the cabinet secretariat.

The next EPFO chief please stand up
Forget interest rate decision for 2012-13. PF officials are more engrossed in a new quest — finding out who will finally head the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, which has been without a full time chief since former CPFC RC Mishra retired on November 30. The labour and employment ministry had given additional charge of the EPFO to one of its additional secretaries — Ravi Mathur. But Mathur was soon promoted and transferred to the finance ministry as secretary, department of disinvestment. Now, Anil Swarup, another additional secretary in the labour ministry, who also heads the hugely successful Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana has been given additional charge of the EPFO.
