Chandran stuns Alexandrov

Top seeded Grandmaster and former world junior champion Abhijeet Gupta scored a victory at the expense of T U Navin Kanna after two back-to-back draws. Gupta took his tally to three points in all from his four games.

After a shocking first round loss, former national champion B Adhiban scored his third victory on the trot defeating Dinesh Kumar Sharma. In an upset result, P Lokesh defeated International Master Tania Sachdev. In Group B, four players —Sushant Bannerjee, Gahain Santanu Borpatra, Bavan Kumar and Amir Aseem —share the lead after six rounds with 5.5 points apiece.
