Charanjeet defeats Gurmeet by 37 votes

In what can be termed as the closest contest between two giants, Charanjeet Singh Vishvkarma defeated incumbent Gurmeet Singh Kular for post of president by mere 37 votes in elections of United Cycles Parts and Manufacturers' Association (UCPMA) as per results declared late on Saturday. The polling for the elections of UCPMA was held on Saturday amid the heavy security by police forces to avoid any untoward incident seeing the intensity of the tension that was prevailing between the rival groups. As many as 1,500 voters out of 1,879 members of the association cast their votes at UCPMA office. More than 79% voting was registered.
