Christmas spirit grips schools in the city

CHILDREN from schools all over the city celebrated Christmas on Tuesday.
ALL (ASSOCHAM Ladies League) distributed woollen caps, milk and gingerbread candies to underprivileged children at Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Moti Nagar. "Goodies were distributed to around 250 children," said Harpreet Soin from ALL.
Drishti Dr R C Jain Innovative Senior Secondary School celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ with students staging a play on the importance of Xmas and Santa Claus arriving on the campus.
Children in the kindergarten section at DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, came dressed as Santa and fairies, and a special cake-cutting ceremony was held.
The children from Brats n Cuties Playway School witnessed the arrival of Santa with a sleigh placed on the campus amid lighted candles and carol singing.
The whole campus of Balloons Playway School, Dugri, was decorated with Xmas trees and bells. Snacks were provided to children.
Decoration of Xmas stockings, making tree with ice cream sticks, Santa masks and snowman decoration — these activities marked celebrations at Penguin Castle Pre-School, Udham Singh Nagar.
A special assembly was held at Ryan International School, Jamalpur, to mark the day.
