While the second edition of the Indian Grand Prix at Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida is grabbing national attention, Pune city is ready for its own tryst with the actual circuit.
Pune-based interactive technology firm Touch Magix has done up interactive screens at the venue for the Sahara-Force India 'Design Your Car' contest. What is even more interesting is that the Pit Lane Bar at the VVIP enclosure too features an interactive bar table; one that will allow patrons to have a more personalised F1 race experience.
Anup Tapadia, Touch Magix founder and the brain behind the project says, "We were approached to do something for the Formula-1 race which would provide race-goers a more interaction-based experience. We decided to work on the two projects at the races for the entire race weekend."
Under the 'Design your car' contest now on at the venue anyone can create a personalised F-1 car for the Sahara-Force India team. "It could feature a completely new paint job, sponsors and the entire works. While the contest is being run by the team, we are providing the surfaces, the touchscreen and content," he says.
Incidentally, last year during the first Indian GP his firm had created a 60-ft interactive floor for the McLaren Mercedes team. This year the focus has shifted to the Sahara-Force India team, he says. Tapadia is particularly excited about the interactive bar table. "We have had experience in designing these surfaces. Very recently we did a similar interactive bar table in Jordan so we were well versed with the concept. We applied the same to the Pit Lane Bar here," he adds.
Under this at the bar anyone who places a glass on the table top will be able to see cars race around the glass.
