DAV College bags 30 prizes at PU youth festival

The DAV College in Sector 10, Chandigarh, bagged 30 prizes in various group and individual events in the Panjab University Youth and Heritage Festival which concluded on Wednesday.

The music club of the college bagged a total of 9 positions, securing first position in group shabad, first individual prize in shabad, third prize in Indian group song, third individual prize in Indian group song, third prize in ghazal, third prize in folk song, third prize in folk orchestra, second prize in long heik and third individual prize in kavishri.

The Fine Arts Club bagged three positions securing first in rangoli and third position in collage making and poster making. The college bagged second position in classical dance.

The bhangra team won the second position, and also the second individual prize. In the traditional dances category, 'jhoomar' won the second team prize as well as second individual prize.

The Young Speakers Association bagged second prizes, securing first position in elocution and third position in poetry recitation. The creative writers club bagged three prizes, with third prize in poetry writing and short story writing and second prize in essay writing.

The dramatics club Aaghaaz bagged ten prizes, wining first prize in one act play and four first prizes for best actors in the play, first prize in histrionics and mimicry, third prize in skit, third prize for best actors in skit and mime.
