Electronics demand to grow to $125 bn: CEAMA

Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) recently concluded their 33 rd annual function in the national capital. Present on the occasion were Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Praful Patel, Secretary of Department of Electronics & IT J Satyanarayana, Congress MP Mohammed Azharuddin and CEAMA president Anirudh V Dhoot and many other prominent industry leaders.

During the occasion, Patel said, "The Indian electronic & home appliances industry should start looking at indigenous sources for components and raw materials.

Dhoot addressed the dignitaries and spoke about the current economic condition with its effect on the current performance of consumer durable sector.

He said, "'We, at CEAMA have made efforts to promote the growth and development of electronic hardware industry in the country."

The industry has reached an annual turnover of Rs 40,000 crore. The demand of electronics in the Indian market is projected to grow to $125 billion in next 2-3 years and $ 400 billion by 2020, Dhoot added.
