Elevated corridor: 3 firms show interest

Infrastructure majors IL&FS, GMR and Larsen & Toubro have evinced interest in bidding for Churchgate-Virar Elevated Rail Corridor, in response to a ministry of railways invitation, Mittal said. "We are still talking to the state government on finalising the support agreement," he said. At Rs 21,000 crore, the 63.27-km corridor would be one of most expensive public-private partnership projects. Mittal said Mumbai Rail Vikar Corp had prepared project report for a second elevated corridor from CST to Panvel and it would be submitted to the ministry of railways after state approval.
