Shahid scalps eight
Malapuram: Ian Dev Singh carried his bat for J&K, scoring an unbeaten 117. But left arm medium pacer Chovvakaran Shahid picked up eight wickets in his third First Class match to bowl the visitors out for 215 on day one of the Group C contest. Electing to bat, J&K were in a rather comfortable position in the first session, as they reached 83 for two before Shahid struck. In his first burst, he picked up four wickets allowing the side to add just 23 runs in the interval. With the backbone of the side dismissed, he returned to finish the job, as he cleaned up the tail. Ian Dev Singh faced 240 deliveries, striking 11 boundaries and two sixes as he carried on from one end. The two sides are the bottom placed ones of the Group and will be going for maximum points.

Dagar hits third ton for UP
nagpUR: Opener Mukul Dagar struck a patient century as Uttar Pradesh posted 248 for four in their Group B match against Vidarbha. At stumps, Parvinder Singh was batting on 13 and Amir Khan was batting on 11. Dagar hit 14 fours during his 258-ball knock after his team elected to bat. Mohammad Kaif scored 85 from 212 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes. UP's innings was built largely on the back of the 199-run stand for the second wicket between Dagar and Kaif. The visitors, however, lost the momentum a bit after losing three wickets in the final session.
