Face of Cong ads refutes claims of ‘personal’ support to Modi

Tulika Patel, the face of Congress's advertisement campaign for the assembly elections, on Sunday refuted BJP's alleged claims that she supported Chief Minister Narendra Modi's leadership on personal level.

Congress has alleged that BJP has circulated pamphlets carrying Tulika's photograph in which it was suggested that she was only a professional actor who did the advertisements on Congress's behalf on professional level.

Addressing a press conference, she said, "I have to come out openly today to say that the propaganda against me is completely false. I have been a follower of Congress ideology and will do the same forever."

"I am a daughter of Gujarat who presented (in the advertisements) what I saw in Gujarat. However, that has been taken negatively. I did not expect this from the Chief Minister who is of my grand-father's age," said Tulika, a professional actor.

Replying to questions, she said she was not paid by Congress for the advertisements and that she acted in it because she wanted to contribute to the party.
