Five ‘extortionists’ lynched in J’khand

Five men allegedly belonging to an extortion gang were Saturday lynched by villagers of Manhu in Jharkhand's Khunti district.

SP Amarnath Mishra said they came to the area around 10 am and were cornered by villagers and beaten to death with sharp weapons and stones. They were identified as Suraj Mahato, 22, Pappu, 20, Prem, 20, Ram Naik, 22, and Mahindra Lal Prasad, 42. Mahato, the alleged gang leader, was recently released on bail, the SP said.

All five were accused in cases of murder and extortion, the SP added.
