Fly No More
You heard it right. There will be no Fly Music Festival. Just when we were rejoicing that English rock giants, Deep Purple would perform in the Capital, the rains ruined it, or so we are told. The highly anticipated multi-genre fest boasted an impressive dream line-up of international artistes such as metalheads Limp Bizkit and Anthrax, singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, reggae gods The Wailers, and Manzarek and Kreiger of The Doors, among others. The festival, was supposed to take place in Delhi and Bangalore on February 16 and 17.
In an official statement, Manuj Agarwal, CEO Percept Live, the organisers of the festival said, "Due to extremely tight timelines between our announcement and the actual event, Fly Music Festival could not garner the reach and hype that an event of this stature required for successful execution."
This could have been one of the biggest musical extravaganzas that the country would have seen but "the unseasonal rains in Delhi caused delay in the massive production required," says the official statement. Though the organisers promise that the festival will be rescheduled, we are not so sure.
