Granite scam: Union Minister M K Alagiri's son Durai Dayanidhi surrenders before court

Durai Dayanidhi

Speaking to reporters outside the courtroom at Melur, Alagiri alleged that the cases filed against his son Dayanidhi were false and due to "political enmity".

"There is no link between my son and Olympus Granites, allegedly involved in illegal granite quarrying, as he resigned from the company in 2010 itself. We will face the case legally," he said.

Alagiri alleged that police were filing cases "just to be in the good books of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa".

He also charged the state government with placing hurdles in implementation of projects from the MP Local Area Development Funds.
