The family of Dilip Saran, the watchman of the institute, has accused the police of torturing him during questioning and staged protest demanding action against the police officers.
SSP Dubey, however, said the allegations levelled by the family of Saran were false and being done to divert the issue. He said Saran has been changing his statement frequently. Initially, he told police that he had not seen any suspicious person on the campus that day. Later, he disclosed to have seen a person taking away the car of the victim. Police had asked him to give description of the suspected person so that sketch could be prepared. But, the police claimed, Saran did not cooperate with them in preparing the sketch of the suspect.
