Haryana OSD urges INLD not to politicise Chautalasí conviction

Stating that the INLD's statements targeting the Congress for the conviction of its leaders Om Prakash Chautala and Ajay Singh Chautala was misleading, K V Singh, the officer on special duty (OSD) (Media) to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday urged the party not to politicise the issue and to honour the CBI court's decision and proceed legally in the case.

In a statement issued here, Singh said the way Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) party leaders were targeting the Congress was condemnable. He added that when the case was registered in 2003, Om Prakash Chautala was the chief minister of Haryana and the NDA, supported by the INLD, was heading the government at the Centre.

He further said that even when the case was registered in 2004, the INLD was still at the helm in the state and hence "it was completely wrong to target Congress in this case."

Singh said that the Congress never indulged in political vendetta.
