IAC activists show black flags to Hooda at Hisar

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress MP Naveen Jindal were caught unawares when dozens of India Against Corruption activists waved black flags and shouted anti-Congress slogans in Hisar on Sunday. Hooda and Jindal, besides various other Congress ministers and leaders were in Hisar for addressing a public rally on the occasion of Maharaja Aggrasen Jayanti.

According to the police, around a dozen protesters, including lawyer Rajesh Jakhar, activists including Mahavir Sharma, Ashish Jain and three women, were arrested for disrupting law and order and produced in the court. They were later released on bail.

In the last few days, IAC leader Arvind Kejriwal has openly targeted Hooda and Haryana government for allegedly showering favours to real estate giant DLF Limited by giving away prime land in Gurgaon and other parts in National Capital Region at throw-away prices and by changing the terms and conditions in a clandestine manner.

The incident took place at 1 pm when Hooda and other Congress leaders reached the rally venue. Despite heavy police deployment, the protesters waving black flags entered the venue and started shouting anti-Hooda slogans.

The protesters created a disruption for about 30 minutes, till the police used force and finally whisked them away. "A few of them were taken into custody and booked under relevant provisions of law," Assistant Sub-Inspector Harish Bhardwaj said.
