Accusing senior Punjab Police officials of eyeing his property 'worth crores in Samrala', NRI Ranjit Singh alias Raja Kandola, who has been charged with smuggling methamphetamine worth Rs 200 crore, has challenged the police to show the drugs recovered from him.
Kandola was produced in a local court on Wednesday, where arguments were to be held on the charges framed against him and his accomplices regarding the alleged drug recovery made by the Garhshankar police from his accomplices. His counsel could not reach on time prompting the court to post the hearing for December 19.
While in court, Kandola spoke to the media and alleged that he and his family members were being falsely implicated by the police. He added that he was ready to accept the charges if the police proved the existence of the Rs-200 crore drug haul.
Kandola also alleged that police arrested his son after showing a recovery of 500 gram of smack from him and thus ruined his career. "I do not live with my wife and police arrested her while my girlfriend, who can't even tell the colour of the drug, was also arrested." He also denied that he attempted to flee from police custody.
On being questioned on the names of the police officials, he refused to reveal the names stating that it would endanger his life and the lives of his family. Kandola is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail, as he was arrested by Delhi Police in August.
