Handle with care

It is sad that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the latter's failure to hold free and fair elections. Consequently, not only will the Indian athletes be barred from the IOC scholarships but also the tricolour will not be hoisted at the IOC meets. At the same time, there is no use weeping over spilt milk and instead India should listen to and abide by what the IOC keeps on saying about the controversial election process. Ours being a big democracy, don't we have enough right-thinking people and intellectual capacity to hold any election process in a transparent manner? It is the responsibility of the government and the other sports authorities concerned to help the IOA come out of the mess as soon as possible.
