The final decision on a possible electoral tie-up between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) may be taken next week after a meeting between AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and SSS leader Raju Shetti.

Shetti, who addressed the media in Pune on Monday, said the meeting would discuss the AAP's stand on various issues, such as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail, setting up of the National Drought Commission, 10-year policy on export-import of agricultural produce and other issues related to agriculture. The political affairs committee of SSS had earlier met in Pune to chart out the future course of action for the party.

Talks between AAP and SSS have been going on for some time about a possible seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming general and state elections in Maharashtra.

Kejriwal's relations with Shetti have been cordial with both parties making it a point to support each other's agitations. "We have heard that AAP is opposed to FDI in retail while we welcome it. Also, they have not made their stance about issues related to agriculturists very clear. I have not been able to talk to him (Kejriwal) after the Delhi elections, but we will have a meeting next week to take a final call," he said.
