Man arrested for molestation, assault

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly molested and physically assaulted when she reacted to man for passing lewd comments at her on Wednesday. Police said the woman was on her way to a grocery store in Ambedkar Colony, in RK Puram's Sector-I, when Dharampal commented on her. "When she tried to resist, he started assaulting her," a police officer said. Passersby came to the rescue of the woman and caught hold of Dharampal. He was beaten up by the crowd and later handed over to police.

Metro marks 10 years of service, plans events

New Delhi: To mark the completion of 10 years of the operations of Delhi Metro, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has organised a series of events, including a quiz competition. It has far attracted a huge response from commuters, with more than 500 participants winning prizes. The DMRC is holding these quiz competitions two hours every day at 10 Metro stations. The shows will continue till December 31. Also, two commemorative films — a short film and a documentary — have been made to mark the occasion. Special screenings have been organised at Metro Bhawan and DMRC's residential complexes. A photo exhibition featuring over 180 photographs depicting the journey of Delhi Metro has been put up at Metro Bhawan.

Fog clears, but breeze keeps city cold

New Delhi: The city got respite from dense fog conditions after three days, but the winter breeze kept the Capital cold on Wednesday. The maximum temperature plunged two degrees below normal to settle at 18.3 degrees Celsius. Flight operations at IGI Airport remained unaffected. There was shallow fog in the morning at the airport and the visibility was above 1,500 metres, airport sources said. There were delays and cancellations of some flights, but it was mainly due to operational reasons and bad weather at the destination ports, a source said. The Met department forecast partly cloudy sky with mist or shallow fog on Thursday morning.
