Married woman BSF cop kills self by consuming pills supplied by ‘lover’
A married woman BSF constable, Paramjit Kaur, posted with 36 Battalion of Border Security Force allegedly committed suicide by consuming some pills at Dera Baba Nanak civil hospital on Monday, police said Tuesday.
The pills were provided to Kaur, who was around 25-years old, at the hospital by her 'lover' identified as Raj Kumar Laadi, a resident of Dharowali. The police suspect that the accused had a suicide pact with the woman constable, but decided against consuming the pills himself.
Dera Baba Nanak DSP Gurmeet Singh said the woman was admitted to the hospital on December 12, following a 'brawl' with her husband, Gurwinder Singh, also a BSF constable.
Dera Baba Nanak SHO said that after Gurwinder learnt about the alleged affair of his wife with Laadi they entered into a brawl. Investigations revealed that Laadi was introduced by Kaur to hospital attendants as her relative. "Laadi works as a pharmacist in Jalandhar. We are trying to get more details about him. Kaur was declared dead on Monday night," he added.
A case of abetment to suicide was registered against Laadi, the police said, adding that raids were being conducted to nab him.
