Marwin helps Ranbaxy win

Chandigarh:Marwin blasted 40 off 21 deliveries and then bagged two wickets to help Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd beat Barclays Bank by 77 runs in a lop-sided encounter of the CIITata Motors Regional Corporate Cricket Cup played at GNPS Ground in Sector 36 on Saturday.

Ranbaxy batted first and scored 184 for 7 in the stipulated 20 overs. Marwin looked in good form and smashed the ball all over the ground to give a good start to the team.

Praveen chipped in with useful knock of 42 runs. Ashish bagged two wickets for Barclays Bank. In reply, Barclays Bank were all out for 107 in 15.2 overs. Kapil top scored for the team with 40 off 28 balls while Amit Sharma contributed 33 runs. Sanjeev Kumkar bowled well and took three wickets for Ranbaxy. In another match, MIA XI defeated HDFC Ltd.

Kho-kho trials today

Patiala:Punjab Kho-Kho Association will conduct trials on November 18 at Polo Ground, Patiala at 10:30 am, for the selection of the Punjab kho-kho team for the 46th Senior kho-kho championship for men and women to be held at Vidya Pratishthan, Baramati (Pune) from December 8 to 12.
