Mercury continues to rise in Pune

Puneites witnessed sweltering heat on Thursday with the minimum temperatures continuing to rise. The Met department recorded the minimum temperature at 17.1 degrees Celsius, 5.9 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature was 34 degrees Celsius. Almost all districts in the state have recorded high minimum temperature. With a trough along the west coast as well as the low pressure on the Bay, the department said, temperatures had risen in the state. They said the mercury would remain around 16-17 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours. Though slight drizzle was witnessed in some parts of the city, the department did not record any rain.
