Narendra Modi has betrayed people of Gujarat by spilling blood: Shakeel Ahmed

Narendra Modi

Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed has hit out at Narendra Modi, saying the Gujarat Chief Minister has betrayed the people of his state by spilling blood.

"Modi says 'Gujarat Ka Namak sab ney Khaya hai Parantu Namak kha ker bhi Modi ney Gujarat ka hi khoon bahaya hai,'" he tweeted.

The BJP hit back at his comments, saying the Congress Party is indulging in a politics of defamation, as it is frustrated

"Congress Party is indulging in a politics of defamation. They believe in defamation politics, but we believe in the politics of development. So, there is a difference between the two of us. And today, when the politics of development is dominating, their defamation politics is getting exposed. Congress Party should now understand that the time of defamation politics is over and the people today want to know as to what (development works) have you (Congress) done," said BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

Naqvi also lashed out at Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde over his ''saffron terror'' remark.

"He should tender an apology for his remark for he has insulted the country," he said.

Naqvi further threatened to stage a protest outside Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence before the Budget Session of Parliament if Shinde does not apologise for his remarks.

Shinde had earlier in the Congress Party's Chintan Shivir in Jaipur alleged that BJP and RSS were involved in training their cadre in terror activities and those allegedly involved in Hindu terror acts were affiliated to them.
