No PM hopes involved: Vaidya

SENIOR RSS ideologue M G Vaidya says that he wouldn't link BJP leader L K Advani's move to resign all party posts to his PM ambition. He also feels BJP shouldn't be hasty in projecting Modi for the PM's role.

Asked if Modi's appointment as campaign committee chief could be a reason, Vaidya said, "It may not be the only reason. There could be more." About Advani's demand to remove Suresh Soni as RSS-BJP co-ordinator, Vaidya said, "That's an old issue. Soni has been chosen by the RSS. RSS chooses someone to do the job. Earlier it was Madandasji and before that there was Sudarshanji." Vaidya had hinted in his blog that Modi was behind Ram Jethmalani's demand for Nitin Gadkari's ouster from BJP presidentship.

On Modi's candidature, Vaidya said, "The BJP should wait for elections results from four states before deciding any name. Modi is capable, but so are others like Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh himself."
