In view of demands for reviewing the age bracket for nursery admission, Delhi Government today decided to set up a committee to examine the issue for the academic session 2014-15.

"We will not review the decision as the admission process will begin from January 1. But we have decided to examine it for the academic year 2014-15," Education Minister Kiran Walia said after the decision was taken at a meeting of Delhi School Admission Advisory Board presided by her.

After Delhi Government finalised the age limits for admission into nursery, kindergarten and class one for the academic year 2013-14, a number of schools had sought a review of the decision.

The minimum age for admission into nursery classes for 2013-14 is three years while maximum was fixed at three years 11 months and 30 days as on March 30.

For admission into kindergarten, the minimum age was fixed at 4 years while maximum was kept at 4 years 11 months and 30 days.

For class-I, the minimum was kept at 5 years and the maximum was fixed at 5 years 11 months and 30 days on March 30.

A number of schools have demanded raising the minimum age for nursery admission from three-and-half years to four years.
