Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar Sunday cut short his visit to Sangli after feeling uneasy and flew back to Pune. NCP leaders said he was fine by evening and was resting in his Shivajinagar residence.
Pawar started feeling uneasy while addressing sarpanchs at a conference in Kolhapur. Party workers said that five minutes into his speech, Pawar started coughing and discontinued his speech. NCP spokesperson Ankush Kakde said, "He was immediately shifted to a rest house, where doctors examined him. He was advised rest and was brought to Pune in a chopper. He was feeling fine by evening." Kakade said. Pawar was to continue with his engagements on Monday.
Dr Ravid Bapat, one of the doctors who examined him, said that his sugar and blood levels were normal.
