The nominations of 19th Annual Colors Screen Awards have created quite a buzz in the industry! Here's looking at what the nominees had to say

The much awaited nominations for 19th Annual Colors Screen Awards were announced last week and they created quite a stir among the industry! From directors and actors to musicians and technicians, while some nominees were genuinely surprised, a few were even expecting the nominations but all of them were equally overjoyed and excited to get recognition in their respective categories.

While Sujoy Ghosh expressed a shocked 'Arre you f**king serious?!' at being informed about Kahaani's 13 nominations, Anurag Kashyap took to the microblogging site, Twitter, to express his elation over Gangs Of Wasseypur bagging 17 nominations. Meanwhile, further away from North Bengal, Anurag Basu exclaimed, 'Wow! It's great news!' when told that Barfi! was leading the nomination race with a record 18 nominations. Disney UTV studios had several reasons to rejoice. The studio announced that it had bagged historic 42 nominations in the Jury and Popular Choice categories across categories for their films, Barfi!, Paan Singh Tomar, Rowdy Rathore, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Heroine and Arjun: The Warrior Prince.

Among actors, Irrfan and Manoj Bajpayee were genuinely thrilled at being nominated in the Best Actor (Male) category along with the bigwigs Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. While, Parineeti Chopra, who bagged a Best Actor (Female) nomination for her riveting performance in Ishaqzaade, was thrilled to be nominated for her first film as a solo heroine. Meanwhile, the debutants and especially the first-time directors, were thrilled to get recognised and nominated for their work.

"The nominations reflect that things are changing and people are ready to accept new kinds of voices even in the mainstream," observed Nandini Srikar, who bagged a nomination in the Best Playback Singer (Female) category for Dil mera muft ka from Agent Vinod. Debutant Ayushmann Khurrana, who bagged multiple nominations, pointed out that the nomination was even more special since it's the centennial year of the Indian film cinema.
