The auction for vanity numbers in the new series "CH01 AS" will be held on Monday at the Registering and Licensing Authority, Sector 17. The numbers 0001, 0009, 0007, 9999 and 7777 in the new series have attracted the maximum number of bidders. There are multiple bidders for 98 numbers out a total of 482 applications.
However, this time, the response to the auction is comparatively poor. During the auction of the previous CH01 AR series, the RLA had received 816 applications. However, the first auction of the CH 01 AR series, was canceled which had attracted 106 bidders. On an average around 700 applications are received for such auctions.
The second time, auction for the CH 01 AR series was held on February 18 wherein the number 0001 in CH 01 AR series went under the hammer for Rs 10.05 lakh and was bought by a Mahant.
Insiders say that the reason for a poor response to the auction could be the less time gap between the previous auction and the this one.
