Sacred Heart cagers clinch title

Continuing with their dominance, Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, outclassed St Anne's Convent School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, 33-13, in the final match to clinch the Shanta H. Singh Memorial basketball tournament for girls, that concluded at the New Public School court in Sector 18 in Chandigarh on Monday. Shavy (7) scored the maximum points for Sacred Heart School. Earlier, playing in the semifinals, St Anne's School beat Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20, by a margin of 52-30. In the other semifinal match, Sacred Heart School overpowered hosts New Public School, Sector 18, by 43-21.

In the Rao Jai Singh Memorial basketball tournament for men, New Public School, Sector 18 and BKSP Bangladesh rattled their opponents in the semifinals to enter the final. New Public School prevailed over Police DAV Public School, Amritsar, 51-21, while the Bangladesh team beat St John's School, Sector 26, by 37-12. The teams will lock horns with each other on Tuesday.
