Saji Mohan case: 3 witnesses cross-examined

In the case against IPS officer Saji Mohan under the NDPS Act, three witnesses were cross examined on Wednesday. The case has been lined up for today for examination of two more witnesses.

The three witnesses included Pushpdeep Singh, an Excise and Customs officer. The second witness was Virat Datt Chaudhary who was the commissioner at the time of the arrest of the IPS officer. The third person was Vijay Kumar, a sepoy with the Narcotics Control Bureau.

The NDPS case against the IPS officer was shifted to the stage of examination of witnesses. At the time of drafting the order, it was realized that charges pertaining to the delivery of contraband were not added. Hence, the court asked the defence and the prosecution if they wanted to cross examine the witnesses again.
