Aam Aadmi Party recruits people at festival

Members of the Aam Aadmi Party in the tricity found a unique way of increasing its numbers. With hundreds of people visiting the Rose Festival everyday, the members of the party smelled an opportunity to reach out to the masses and started a 'Public Awareness-cum-Volunteers Enrollment Drive' at the Rose Garden. The action, however did not go down well with the officials of the Municipal Corporation.

Wearing their characteristic topis with the words "Main Aam Aadmi Hoon", the Aam Aadmi brigade created awareness among the people about the party and enrolled members. The initiative did manage to attract a crowd.

All the three chapters of the AAP, namely Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula had deputed their teams at the Rose Garden and around 20 workers of the party tried to explain to the public how the party is fighting to bring a change in the existing political system in the country.

"We have got great feedback from the public and 203 people have already enrolled with us today. We will continue with our drive for the remaining two days," said Dhirendra, a member of the Panchkula Coordination Committee of the AAP.

However, with such activities not allowed at the Rose Festival the officials of the Municipal Corporation asked the members to leave the premises.
